‘Bridgerton’ Season 2 Trailer: Lord Anthony And Kate Sharma Just Turned Up The Heat! Is That A Haldi Ceremony We Spotted?
You might wanna stop promenading and grab a seat! The first full-length official trailer of Bridgerton Season 2 is here! The worldwide phenomenon from Netflix, based on the eponymous book series by author Julia Quinn is ready to drop its second season. And this one makes a departure from Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and her handsome-rake-turned-husband, Simon, the Duke (Regé-Jean Page), and focus on another rake. Her brother, the Viscount, Lord Anthony Bridgerton and his escapades in finding a wife. When we last left the ton, we saw Anthony tell Daphne and Simon that perhaps, he was ready to marry. And in Season 2, based on the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me, will see Anthony, played by Jonathan Bailey meet the Sharma sisters, as he seeks one of them for his wife but ends up falling for the other, Kate Sharma, played by Sex Education actor Simone Ashley! Sounds kaafi scandalous, no? Perfect, because that’s how Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) likes her tea!

In the trailer, we see Lord Anthony determined to find a wife, but only because his familial obligations require him to get married and produce an heir. In that pursuit, when the Sharma sisters come to town, Anthony decides the younger sister Edwina might be perfect. That is until he finds out he must impress the elder sister, Kate, who might be just the challenge that makes him lose his heart, and finally win at love. Meanwhile, let’s not forget that Eloise Bridgerton is about to make her debut in society this time, and it is going to be interesting to see if her ideas about marriage and writing and her obsession with the identity of Lady Whistledown continue once she has a suitor, or suitors lining up to distract her! I thought I spotted her smiling at a cute boy!
Speaking of cute boys, it looks like Colin Bridgerton is back from his travels, and that puts Penelope Featherington in a nice little spot. She’s our suspect number 1 for Lady Whistledown as per that huge reveal at the end of Season 1, and I am dying to see how that pans out. Not to mention, she’s lost her father and the Featheringtons don’t have a penny to their name, so how are they going to survive in the ton?! I also see Daphne is back with her baby a little grown-up, and while we will miss the Duke’s presence (Regé-Jean won’t be returning to the show), it’ll be interesting to see the role she plays in Anthony’s love life, like the way he played in her’s.

Alright, someone bring me a fan because things just got hot in here! The chemistry between Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley is crackling, and yes though it isn’t as intense as it was between Daphne and Simon, I have a feeling that the more we see of this couple, the more we’re going to enjoy their banter and eventual romance. Especially to watch the ‘rake with a capital R’, Anthony, fall in love and realise it a tad late, is going to be fun!
What’s also got me super excited is the Indian haldi ceremony that we caught a tiny glimpse of in the trailer! Is that when the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham song plays in the show? Oh I cannot wait to find out, and discover all the new covers of popular songs that are going to be dropping this season! Corsets and quartets, both are favourites!
