‘Euphoria’ Fame Sydney Sweeney Opens Up About Shooting Nude Scenes, Says It Undervalues Her Acting Skills.

‘Euphoria’ Fame Sydney Sweeney Opens Up About Shooting Nude Scenes, Says It Undervalues Her Acting Skills.

I often wonder how nude scenes make actors feel. Come to think of it, it can be rather uncomfortable to strip in front of several cast and crew members. Moreover, I feel that actors going nude for their film or show sort of takes away the credit they deserve for their acting skills. Most of the time, viewers are busy raving about the nude scenes instead of the actor’s acting skills. Take 50 Shades Of Grey for example. All we hear about is how the actors are comfortable in their birthday suits but apart from film critics, no one has really talked about Dakota Johnson or Jamie Dornan’s acting skills and how they aced the portrayal of their characters. This isn’t something new. Recently Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney opened up about how her nude scenes in the series are affecting her public image and career graph.

Sharing that she has requested the maker of the show Sam Levinson to cut out some of her topless scenes from the show, Sydney Sweeney said that the creator of the series has accepted her requests and made her feel safe and comfortable. Speaking about her character Cassie, the actress shared that there were moments when the character was supposed to go topless but she didn’t feel comfortable so she told Levinson that she doesn’t think that it’s necessary. Sharing that the maker responded positively and agreed with her that the scene was not needed, Sweeney added that he always made her feel safe.

Sydney Sweeney said that she never felt that Sam Levinson pushed it or tried to get her to do a nude scene for the show. “When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me,” said the Euphoria actress. She also revealed that the intimacy coordinator of the show advocated for her when it came to certain delicate scenes.

The 24-year-old actress also opened up about some bad experiences that she has had with shooting nude scenes. Revealing that in the past she has had bad experiences and felt uncomfortable while shooting nude scenes with her castmate and crew, Sydney Sweeney said, “I’ve had experiences where I want to go home and scrub myself completely raw because I feel disgusting.” She stated that she hopes that her nude scenes don’t overshadow her acting skills. Sharing that she is proud of her work in Euphoria, the actress said that she felt that her performance was great in the series but it’s not talked about because she got naked. “I do ‘The White Lotus’ and all of a sudden critics are paying attention. People are loving me. They’re going, ‘Oh my God, what’s she doing next?’ I was like, ‘Did you not see that in “Euphoria”? Did you not see that in “The Handmaid’s Tale”?’” said Sweeney. She further added that this bothers her. Well, girl, we agree. It bothers us too!
