Dia Mirza Opens Up About Her Near-Death Experience During Pregnancy. It’s Important To Talk About This Side Of Motherhood Too
On New Year’s Eve, Dia Mirza had shared a short video on her social media account and expressed her gratitude towards the year 2021 for motherhood and her marriage with Vaibhav Rekhi. Fans were surprised that she mentioned something about having a near-death experience in the video but didn’t reveal much about it. Recently, she opened about it, saying that it revolved around the difficulties she had to face during her pregnancy in the middle of a global pandemic.

Dia Mirza had announced her pregnancy soon after her wedding with Vaibhav Rekhi. At that time, she received a lot of unnecessary hate online, and she faced it all like a true queen, unfazed. Talking about her near-death experience, Dia Mirza revealed that during the fifth month of her pregnancy she underwent major surgery. She went on to thank her doctor for saving her and her son’s lives, ” I had to go in for an appendectomy in the fifth month of my pregnancy. I was in and out of hospital subsequently because of an acute bacterial infection that could have led to sepsis while I was in my sixth month of pregnancy. My baby had to be delivered because my placenta had started to haemorrhage. It was a tough time and I’m grateful for my gynaecologist who saved our lives,” she said in an interview.

When asked about her experience being a mother in the pandemic, Dia said that she hopes everything comes back to normal. She also mentioned that people should spend time with their family and make this difficult time happy and safe for their children. “To bring a child into a world in crisis has a profound impact on all our choices. I hope that someday soon we won’t have to wear masks and our children can have normalcy in their lives. Our daughter is studying online and that is a struggle. Our son is too young to know the difference. But while we stay home, we cherish the time we have together and do all we can to make this time engaging, happy and safe for our children,” Dia said.

The Thappad actress welcomed the year 2022 with daughter Samaira and 4-months-old baby boy Avyaan Azaad and described the experience as wonderful. Dia Mirza’s next project is Bheed which is directed by Anubhav Sinha who also directed her last film Thappad. She is quite excited about the film Bheed which will release in 2022.
