5 Tips And Tricks To Ensure Your Makeup Is As Stuck To You As Your Partner On Your Wedding
Shaadi season is here and if you ain’t a single pringle like me, you might be getting married… or not? Ignoring the horrible generalisation I just did there, if you are a honewaali dulhan and your wedding day is coming up, I am certain one of your biggest concerns is hair and makeup. And while I cannot substitute for your neighbour waali makeup aunty, I can still share some of my tips and tricks which will ensure your makeup lasts all day long on your big day.
1. Skincare Is Essential
Skin preparation is essential for a perfect, long-lasting base. In order to remove dry, flaky spots of skin and smooth the skin’s surface, exfoliate one to two days before the wedding. Your foundation will look better and last longer if your skin is smooth. However, avoid experimenting with new skincare products just before your wedding. Stick to using your normal exfoliator, or use a warm, damp towel to gently massage any dead skin off your face in circular motions.
2. Use Primer
When it comes to long-lasting results, primers really make a huge difference. For seamless all-day wear, they contribute to the creation of a gripping effect that extends the wear time and coverage of makeup. Choose a primer that suits your skin. For example, if you have visible pores, use a silicon-based primer as they create a smooth base for your foundation to cling to. You can also use a hydrating primer for dry skin and a mattifying one for oily skin.

3. Understand Your Skin’s Requirements
Choose makeup products based on your skincare requirements after assessing your skin the day of the wedding. If your skin is oily, use light, oil-free products; if it’s dry to normal, choose something richer. Also, be mindful of what suits your skin and use products accordingly. Being sure of your skincare requirements will enable you to make sure your makeup looks good and remains intact throughout the day.
4. Use Powder Products On Cream
While cream products blend beautifully and give a natural finish, they might not be as long-lasting by themselves. Layering them with powder will seal in the natural look of the cream product while making it long-lasting. Apply a bit of a liquid or cream product onto your cheeks, then cover it with a matching powder to prolong the life of your blush and contour. In addition to increasing pigment, this locks in your makeup.

Yes, using a setting spray is common after makeup but think about using it in-between steps for making sure your makeup does not budge. Use it after foundation and before powder, and once more once your makeup is finished. You can use a makeup sponge to really press in the setting spray.
