The latest campaign by British luxury label has definitely left us with a lot of Christmas holiday spirit. Releasing the gorgeous clip titled The Tale Of Thomas Burberry earlier this week, Burberry began the Christmas campaign battle of the brands. According to The Daily Mail, the scintillating ‘trailer’ (no there is no movie, don’t get uber excited the way I did) which is actually a larger-than-life TV commercial that allegedly cost £10 million to make, and has been directed by Academy Award winner Asif Kapadia of Amy fame.
Starring Domhnall Gleeson as Thomas Burberry, Dominic West as Ernest Shackleton, and Sienna Miller as the protagonist’s love interest, this clip is no less than that of an academy award feature (it does have all the ingredients for the perfect film). And, of course, including the current face of Burberry in this lovely clip, we see Lily James play a fictional character called Betty Dawson. The 3-minute-long commercial is an ode to the designer label and celebrates their 160th anniversary in the fashion industry. This has got to be the most lavish Christmas advert ever…now that’s a toughie to beat!
