Wrestlers’ Protest Suspended Till June 15 After Government Asks For Time To Complete Investigation

The wrestler’s protests have attracted a lot of attention in recent times. The protest which was started by Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat against the WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has seen many sudden developments. And these updates have come soon after their meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. In the recent update, Bajrang Puni informed the media about suspending the protests till June 15.
The Wrestlers Protest has been suspended till June 15, informed Bajrang Punia, one of the leading members of the protest. This decision comes after the government demanded some time to complete a thorough investigation on Wrestling Federation Of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The wrestlers also asked the government to take back all the FIRs on them, which the authorities have agreed to.

Bajrang Punia also stated that the suspension of the wrestler’s protest did not mean that they have to take a step back. He further said that if the government fails to keep their promises after June 15, then the wrestlers will continue with the protest.

A few days back, wrestler Sakshi Malik also issued a clarification on the news about stepping down from the protest and joining her job in the railways. However, the wrestler stated that she was just fulfilling her responsibilities as a citizen and was still a part of the protest. She dismissed the news to be untrue and requested media not spread fake news.

As per media reports, the minor who had accused WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment allegations has taken back her statement.
