She was recently appointed the first woman Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). However, this is not the first time when she has led the way for women. Nina Singh has many feathers to her cap till now, and as the DG of CISF, she added a golden one to it!

Nina Singh was announced as the first woman DG of CISF by the Central Government on December 29. For the unversed, the CISF is responsible for managing security at the Delhi metro and airport. She will hold this position till July 31, 2024. She started working in the CISF in 2021. Nina Singh held the positions of ADG and then Special DG. She was also the first woman IPS officer to be given responsibility in the Rajasthan cadre. From 2013-2018, Nina Singh also served as the Joint Director of the Crime Bureau of Investigation and managed many important high-profile cases like the Jiah Khan suicide case.
Education
Nina Singh graduated from the 1989 IPS Batch. She is a Harvard University graduate and she pursued a degree in Public Administration from this reputed university. Nina Singh’s initial college days were spent in Patna’s Women’s College and then she further went to Jawaharlal Nehru University for higher degrees.
Medals
Nina Singh was awarded the Ati Utkrisht Seva Medal for her service as an excellent IPS officer.

Personal Life!
Nina Singh married her 1989 IPS batchmate Rohit Kumar Singh who is currently serving as the Secretary of the Union Consumer Affairs Ministry.
