West Bengal Minister Angimitra Paul Lists Regulations Of Women’s Empowerment In The State!

Everybody was keen to know about the West Bengal election results. And,  after many controversies, political rallies and promises, a new party took charge of the state. Mamata Banerjee’s TMC lost the elections to the Bharatiya Janata Party. A new Chief Minister was also appointed for the state, and Agnimitra Paul was sworn in as one of the ministers, too. She has discussed her plans for women’s safety and the strict measures that the government is planning. Read on.

Agnimitra Paul Discusses Steps For Women Empowerment In WB

1. After the oath ceremony, Agnimitra Paul spoke to the reporters about in which she spoke at length about women’s safety. The WB minister advocated women’s freedom to roam around the city at any hour of the day. She assured that the police will take immediate action if any complaint is filed, and the government will ensure that.

2. She also took a subtle dig at the previous government’s statement questioning a woman’s movement in the city after 8 PM. The controversial remark was made by the former WB Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.

3. The Women and Child Development Minister also spoke about the ‘Annapurna’ welfare scheme, and that women with minimal education will also be eligible to apply for the scheme, and they will get the benefits from June 1.

4. For the unversed, women enrolled in the Annapurna welfare scheme will get 3000 per month.

5. Agnimitra Paul also added that there would be CCTVs installed at civic bodies to prevent corruption.
