It was a genetic counsellor named Pankit Doshi and Dr Avish Jain’s wedding that went viral online. Rather than going for a traditional process, they started their baraat with microphones in hand and sang famous Bollywood songs. They were standing in an open vehicle in ethnic attire. Unlike many baraats, it was the bride and groom who performed and not the DJ. The clip was shared by a wedding content creator named Amrish Patel, who said, “When the bride & groom shut down 5th Avenue and live-sing their way into their Baraat and Wedding.”

This especially went viral since such a scale in New York City is rare, shutting down Fifth Avenue involves extensive planning and multiple permits with local authorities like the NYPD’s coordination. The video’s circulation garnered mixed reactions from the public. While many praised their creativity and confidence, others questioned how such a grand celebration on a busy road might cause inconvenience to the public.
