India is in desperate need of some strong measures for women’s safety in the country, and some states more than others. Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Women Commission Panel listed a few women’s safety measures. The list includes measures like tailors should not be taking women’s measurements and the allocation of women trainers in gyms among others. Read on to know more.

UP Women’s Commission Safety Measures

A meeting to discuss women’s safety measures was held in Lucknow on October 28. The panel extensively discussed measures to strengthen women’s safety. During the meeting, the Commission came up with some measures that are yet to be discussed on higher levels. The measures include-

1. No Male Tailors To Take Women’s Measurement

One of the safety measures is that male tailors shouldn’t be allowed to take women’s measurements.

2. Women’s Security In School Buses

The authorities have decided to hire women security on school buses.

3. No Male Trainers

Another point is that male trainers should be restricted from training women in gyms and yoga.

5. Installing CCTV Cameras

The panel also suggested the installation of CCTV cameras in gyms and other public places to monitor.

Well, these suggestions are in the preliminary stage as of now, as per a Times Of India report.

While the objective to strengthen women’s safety is appreciated, these suggestions are quite surface-level. The solutions are still not enough to deal with the core problems. It’s more like reducing the engagement of men and women with each other, and that does not make sense. Also, well, most of the tailors are men, so how will things work exactly? The only positive that comes out of this is that women’s employment may just see a rise after this.
