Twisha Sharma Death Case: Mother-In-Law Giribala Singh Arrested, CBI’s Revelations About Forced Abortion, More Updates

There have been some shocking updates and revelations in the Twisha Sharma death case. For the unversed, the case is being investigated by the CBI, and the Supreme Court has taken suo motu of the case. As per the last updates, the MP court had rejected the anticipatory bail of Twisha’s mother-in-law, Giribala Singh. Giribala Singh Arrested

The videos of Giribala Singh’s arrest are all over the news and social media. The CBI reached her residence after the MP Court rejected her anticipatory bail. As per a report by The Hindu, Giribala Singh was interrogated for 6 hours before the CBI arrested her. She will be produced before the court on Friday, May 29. The CBI will then take her into custody, as per the reports.

Recreating Crime Scene

The CBI also recreated the crime scene at Giribala Singh’s residence. Twisha Sharma’s husband, Samarth, who is also an accused in the case, was present too. CBI plans to interrogate the mother-son duo after seeking Giribala Singh’s custody.

CBI’s Revelations To The Court

For the unversed, the second postmortem of Twisha Sharma revealed some injury marks on her body. As per an India Today report, CBI, in its statement to the court, stated that the in-laws did not give any reason for these marks on the victim’s body. They also opposed Giribala Singh’s anticipatory bail and stated that the case involved dowry harassment, forced abortion and tampering of evidence.

Other Allegations By CBI

The CBI told the court that the in-laws allegedly forced the abortion due to doubts that the baby belonged to someone else. The agency alleged that Giribala Singh and Samarth had doubts about Twisha’s character. They also cited many witnesses who claimed that the in-laws asked for dowry many times, during the vidaai too.

Twisha Sharma’s cremation took place after the second postmortem. The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the case and has assured impartial trials.
