Tech Mahindra Employee Protests Over Alleged Termination After Availing Leave To Look After Sick Child
On Thursday, a software employee named Bhavana staged a solo protest outside the Tech Mahindra campus in Dundigal. She claimed the company terminated her services without any proper reason or notice. Bhavana had been working there for about four and a half months. She said she took three days of sick leave to care for her sick daughter. Instead of support, she lost her job.
Bhavana also spoke about earlier problems at the company. She had taken a 14-day medical leave after falling on the company grounds. During that time, she received repeated emails from the management asking her to come back to work. They warned her that she could lose her job if she did not return soon. She felt this created a difficult and unfriendly work environment.
According to Bhavana, the company made her ask for permission even to use the washroom. She described it as harassment that added to her stress. These experiences left her feeling unsupported, especially when she needed time for her family.
As per The Hindu, Tech Mahindra responded to questions about the case. The company said it has reached out to Bhavana and is looking into the matter quickly. It added that it cares about its workers and is committed to their well-being and safety.
