“Aaftab Grabbed My Neck And I Couldn’t Breathe For 30 Seconds”: Shraddha Walkar’s Audio Clip Reveals

The Shraddha Walkar case that came to light last year has left people across the country shocked by the gruesome details that have been revealed so far from it. Shraddha was strangled to death by her live-in partner, Aaftab Poonawala, and he has been booked by the police. But a new chilling detail has been revealed from the case. In the ongoing court proceeding, an audio clip was played wherein Shraddha Walkar was heard talking about how Aaftab had tried to ‘kill’ her before.

As per the latest reports, Amit Prasad, who is the special public prosecutor in the case on behalf of the state, played this said audio clip in court. The clip was retrieved from the Practo App through which Shraddha and Aaftab had confirmed an appointment with a psychiatrist. In the clip, the 27-year-old could be heard saying that whenever she starts ‘ranting’ about how angry she is feeling, Aaftab, no matter where he is, will ‘hunt’ her down and ‘kill’ her.

In the same recording, she also could be heard saying that she has lost count of the times Aaftab Poobawala has tried to kill her. She also said that this is not the first time he has tried to ‘kill’ her. Shraddha Walkar also recalled the time when Aaftab had grabbed her neck which made her blackout, and she was unable to breathe for nearly 30 seconds. She also said that she defended herself by pulling his hair.

Shraddha Walkar’s father, Vikas Walkar, was present during the hearing when this audio was played. Reportedly, she was visibly shaken up hearing his late daughter’s voice playing from the audio. Vikas Walkar’s lawyer, Seema Kushwaha, said that he felt his daughter was alive upon hearing her voice.

Vikas Walkar also said that he has requested the proceedings take place in a fast-track court as he has not been able to conduct the last rites of his daughter Shraddha. The body parts which the police have recovered from different places are kept as evidence.

This audio clip hints that Shraddha and Aaftab’s relationship was toxic and violent. She has admitted that he tried to kill her before which is concrete proof against Aaftab.
