This remark spread like wildfire on social media platforms like X (Previously Twitter), where many debated whether India’s tidy issues were affecting the tourism and its global image. Many agreed with Shenazz, stating that littering and bad civic sense remain one of the major problems across many Indian tourist destinations. They pointed out how many historical and beautiful Indian places often have garbage, overcrowding, and poor sanitation problems around them.
However, this statement of the creator also received major backlash, with many arguing that it was not just to “generalise” the country. They pointed out that there were many Indian cities and tourist places like Mysuru and Gangtok, where tourists often praise the cleanliness. Others also stated that comparing a tourist-focused and small destination like the Ella station with a large country was not fair.
