Sheeman Kermani was seen being manhandled by many policemen, and she continued to shout at them. As per a report by Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Sheema Kermani was one of the seven activists who were detained by the Karachi police. This incident happened near the Press Club in Karachi on Tuesday. Sheema Kermani was heading for the Aurat March. They were going to hold a press conference for the Non-objection letter for holding the Aurat March protests. As per the news reports, the detained activists were later released on Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanja’s order.
