What is one of the good things about this show is a lot of women-led businesses are getting recognition on this platform. But this sexist and misogynistic society cannot handle a strong and intelligent woman who knows her business and is capable of taking decisions on her own. That is exactly what happened recently with the Paradyes founder, Yushika Jolly. She has taken to LinkedIn to share how she has been receiving hate DMs ever since she appeared on the show for going ahead with boAt CMO Aman Gupta and Sugar Cosmetics CEO Vineeta Singh.

In a lengthy LinkedIn post, Yushika Jolly, who is the founder of Paradyes, a semi-permanent hair colour brand, spoke about how she has been receiving hate but her husband is being appreciated for his ‘negotiation skills’. She wrote that she is being called names like ‘bitch’, ‘greedy’, ‘unprofessional’ and ‘rude’. Yushika wrote that while she receives hate, her husband is getting appreciated for his negotiation skills and his ‘smile’.
Jolly also went on to write how she was also criticised for refusing Lenskart CEO Peyush Bansal’s offer. She said that she knows her business better than any keyboard warrior! She also went on write that those questioning her business understanding skills, should try and undertake a business venture to know how even a 1% is extremely important in terms of stakes.

The key takeaway from this is no matter what a woman does, how qualified she is or how much knowledge she has about her own business, people will always find reasons to point out that she is lacking something. Imagine getting hated for taking an important business decision while her husband gets appreciated for his smile! That is the level of gender bias displayed by people, and it is infuriating!
