Mumbai is experiencing the much-awaited monsoon after it got delayed for more than a month. In just a few days, the heat and the sweat vanished, and the city was happy. But the non-stop rains led to a lot of people making memes on the rain “compensating” for lost days in just a small time, and we are laughing. So, if you’re a Mumbaikar enjoying the monsoon, scroll through these memes for a good time!
About Mumbai Rains
As heavy rainfall lashes parts of Mumbai this week, the internet has wasted no time in turning the annual weather into a meme mine. From commentary on people needing boats instead of cabs to jokes on Mumbai’s legendary “spirit” that survives through waterlogging, delayed trains, manholes, and more, the timeline has filled up with relatable monsoon content. One X (Previously Twitter) user even compared the Mumbai rains to the habit of Indians completing targets “at the last moment,” and we are laughing.

Amid this, the non-stop rain has also led to some major inconvenience to people travelling or whose houses have been affected by the same. Reacting to the same, many made fun of the monsoon, making such a “grand comeback” that people are now wishing it would go away. One user wrote that Mumbaikars go from “oh lovely” to “aai zhavli” to rain every year! One X user pointed out how, while kids are singing “Rain, Rain, Go Away,” adults are praying for rain to come! Some peacocks were also seen running around on Mumbai’s Peddar Road, which led to further jokes.

The internet also called out the situations in the Andheri region where the water is now reaching inside cars and auto rickshaws. They instantly took to their social media handles and pointed out the situation through meme references. But all of this aside, we hope for everyone’s safety amid the dangerous and continuous rains.
