Even actor R.Madhavan acknowledged the athlete’s achievements and hailed her as an inspiration for many. Our nation’s super cool granny won three gold medals in a National Open Athletics Championship held in Dehradun.
Actor R.Madhavan took to his social media handle to praise the 106 YO Rambai for winning three medals in the National Open Athletics Championship in Dehradun. He called her a “True” inspiration.
Not just one but the 106 YO Rambai won three gold medals in the 100m sprint, 200m sprint and shot put. This was the 18th edition of the games in Dehradun. She set this record on Monday by defeating 5 opponents in each game.
The 106 YO grandmom hails from Haryana and expressed her happiness about winning the tournament in her native language.
Rambai’s achievement lists are quite long. In 2022, she also made a world record for the 100m sprint. She has made these records in the above 85 YO category. And her medal count is not just limited to India, Rambai has also participated in games held on international forums. In the athletic career that she started in 2016, till now, Rambai has bagged more than 200 medals.
