In recent events, Punjab Kings cricketer Shashank Singh and his father, Shailesh Singh, who is a retired DG of Police, have been booked by the Ratibad police in Bhopal. This happened after their cook accused them of abuse and assault and even taking away his phone. IANS reported that the FIR includes the names of the cricketer, his father, and their driver named Mishra, as accused. Read to know more about what happened here.

Punjab Kings Player Shashank Singh Booked By Police

The complainant is named Vipendra Singh Tomar and is from the Rewa district. He had reportedly joined the family as their cook in their bungalow in Neelbad on June 25. He claimed that he was earning a salary of Rs 15,000 with food and accommodation. He agreed to work for them and started staying at their residence. Vipendra further alleged that he was later criticised for his work and that they took away his mobile phone. After making breakfast on June 28, he asked Shailesh Singh to give back his phone, which he refused to do.

He further claimed that both he and his son Shashank Singh came into his room with their driver and started abusing and assaulting him with their hands. They reportedly forced him out of their house after beating him. Vipendra claimed that they had transferred Rs 1000 from his phone, claiming that this was taken for the food and accommodation expenses. After this, he went to the police station along with some relatives to file a complaint. For the unversed, Shashank Singh is a player of the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL), while his dad is a retired special DG of police in MP. Police are currently investigating the matter.
