Very unfortunate news about a 26-year-old boy from Pune made headlines. The boy named Ketan Agarwal passed away during the Lohagad Fort trek, but what unfolded later was bone-chilling. The police have arrested Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, in the matter after some interrogation. Read on to know about the investigation so far.
Ketan Agarwal’s Demise
Ketan’s fiancée, Siya, reportedly informed the police about his death. According to her initial statements, Ketan slipped and fell while both were trekking, and she called it a tragedy. This incident reportedly happened on June 18 at Lohagad Fort, Pune.
Investigation
The police initially registered it as an accidental death, but as they went deeper into the investigation, something disturbing unfolded. The police went through Siya’s call records and noted the many calls exchanged with another man, named Chetan Chaudhary. As per an India Today report, the police’s preliminary reports showed that Siya was not keen on marrying Ketan, which was an arranged marriage setup. However, instead of a no, the two allegedly planned to do something worse. As per the police, Sia attempted twice to take Ketan’s life.
The Bali Trip
As per the investigation, Ketan and Siya were supposed to travel to Bali for a pre-wedding holiday with two more people. However, Ketan lost his passport at the very last minute, but it was not a mishap. As per the reports, Siya had allegedly stolen and torn the passport to cancel the trip.
2 Attempts
Going by the reports, the first attempt to push him from the Lohagad Fort was made on June 19, but it failed. Siya took him to the Lohagad Fort again on June 18 under the pretext of celebrating her birthday, which was on June 19. She had also called friends. The group started the trek. On further investigation, the police also found that Chetan Chaudhary was present there but away from everyone’s attention. He had also left his own phone back at his shop and travelled to the destination on a two-wheeler. As per Ketan’s father, Siya and Chetan allegedly hit the boy on his head with an object and pushed him down the gorge. It was Siya who reportedly called the police and informed them that her fiancé had accidentally fallen. During the interrogation, police also found that Ketan was, in fact, an experienced trekker.

Social Media Story
Siya Goyal had also posted a social media story to grieve the loss of her fiancé. However, as per the victim’s family, Siya did not show any remorse when she turned up for Ketan’s funeral. This further raised eyebrows, and the family lodged a formal complaint.
After the investigation, police first detained Chetan and then, based on his statement, took Siya into custody. The two have been booked for murder and criminal conspiracy, and the court has sent them to seven-day police custody.
