A man has been arrested by the Greater Noida police, who is linked to the death of a 22-year-old at her in-laws’ house in the Dadri region.
In a recent turn of events, a man has been arrested by the Greater Noida police, who is linked to the death of a 22-year-old at her in-laws’ house in the Dadri region. The police reported that the accused has been identified as Kannu. Reportedly, the family claimed that she her husband and in-laws murdered her over property worth crores. The woman’s death happened just three months into the marriage.
Greater Noida Man Kills Wife Over Property
The victim has been identified as Monika Nagar who reportedly had a court marriage with Anuj Chauhan on February 17, after the two were dating. Police has registered the case against the her husband Anuj, Kannu, and some other people linked to the matter. The postmortem report has not revealed the cause of the death, after which the viscera was kept for further examination.
During the investigation, the police also stated that Kannu went to an isolated plot where Anuj was allegedly trying to set her body on fire. They also said that Monika Nagar was living with her mother in a rented house before marrying Anuj. They also stated that both of the families were aware and were in favour of this marriage. Reputedly, Monika had told her brother that her in-laws and husband were assaulting her, after which her family had gone to the house and claimed that she had been killed.
The deceased’s mother said that she was in Meerut when Monika called her at 2:50 PM telling her that her husband and in-laws were assaulting her. She immediately left along with her relatives and reached Anuj’s house between 5-6 PM. She said that when they got there, Anuj and his family along with Kannu were putting Monika’s body in a black Fortuner, and chased after them till Galaxy Hospital in Dadri, but they did not stop.
Instead they tried to run over her and her nephew with their car. At 9 PM, the police called her to tell her that they had found her daughter’s body with multiple injuries.
