Every country has its strengths and weaknesses. And well, no matter how powerful the country is, they all have flaws. Recently, the Tejas actress Kangana Ranaut recommended a strong step for getting rid of “Lazy” and “Irresponsible” people in the country. In her opinion, military services should be made mandatory for Indian citizens! Well, many countries like South Korea, and North Korea among others do have this compulsion for their citizens, however, Kangana Ranaut uggesting this step for our country is wrong on many levels. From human rights to waste of resources, there are a few reasons why we think this is a bad idea!

Kangana Ranaut is quite vocal about her views and does not fear speaking her mind about various issues in the country. The actress will soon be seen in Tejas and is currently busy with promotions for the same. During News 18 Amrit Ratna 2023, Kangana Ranaut put forth her opinion on how to deal with the lazy crowd of our country and instil some discipline in them. For that, Kangana Ranaut firmly believed that military services should be made compulsory in India. While she might have gotten this idea from other countries where military training and service are mandatory, however, this in no way justifies it to be right for our country as well!

Not Hard-Working?

Well, firstly, it is quite hard to believe that people in our country are not hard-working! Everyone is working in their own way to make ends meet. And well, there are not many basic provisions that are provided to the citizens anyway. Poverty also exists in the country, and that cannot be overlooked. People in our country are “Jugaadu” too and we are unsure about the kind of discipline Kangana wants to teach the people to overcome laziness. Rather the authorities can make sure that education is made accessible for everyone in the country and employment increases. And we think ensuring these things will turn out to be more helpful in making people efficient!

What About Rights?

Not everyone is made to serve in the military. Many countries like South Korea, North Korea, Brazil and Israel among others have military training as a compulsion. Does it mean that each of their citizens wants to do it or is capable of it? It also takes away the freedom to make a choice from its citizens. And what data has ever proved that military training has made the citizens of these countries more disciplined?

Wasting Resources

It is obvious that military training or service will be funded by the government. And there are many other areas of development that need to be prioritised so is it a really good idea to waste money on giving military training to the people, just so they can learn discipline?

Sometimes it is important to weigh the thoughts before speaking them loudly. And when it is about the country, consideration of its strengths and weaknesses should also be made before making such suggestions. These are thoda extreme views that are clearly not justified and are very hard to agree with!
