Sumit Antil, who won gold medals in the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympics, has made serious allegations against his coach. He said that Naval Singh repeatedly targeted him and Neeraj Chopra. Sumit Antil stated that the coach abused their families and mentally harassed them. As per PTI, he even called the coach’s behaviour unstable and said the mental pressure had become too much to ignore. The para-javelin star mentioned that the coach would deliberately send recordings of his angry outbursts to their managers so that the athletes would hear them.
The situation became so bad that Sumit Antil had to file an official complaint and Neeraj Chopra Navdeep Singh and Sandeep Chaudhary backed it. He said they had ignored the coach’s behaviour for a long time but finally decided to speak up when it crossed all limits.
The complaint was sent to the top officials of SAI and the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). Furthermore, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) has accepted that they received the complaint and said the matter is being looked into. However, they made it clear that coach Naval Singh is not their employee. He is working with the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) in the national coaching camp.

The Para-javelin star also raised a serious question about the coach’s intention. He feels the coach may be supporting another athlete, Sachin Yadav, and wants him to beat Neeraj Chopra in the future.
