India’s Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma And More Make It To ICC T20 Women’s Team of 2022!

The cricket fever in the country never dies down. The josh for men’s cricket is always at an all-time high and the women’s cricket games are also met with similar enthusiasm lately. Just like in other fields and sports where the best artists and best sportspersons are appreciated for their performances, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also has rolled out names for the best female players who performances exceptionally well in T20 in the year 2022. This gesture of appreciating the players from each country is termed the ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year where 11 players are recognised for their gameplay in the year gone by.

As per reports, India’s Smriti Mandhana won hearts with her raining sixes and fours as she made an average of 594 runs. She also added five half-centuries to her name in the 21 innings she played in 2022!

Beth Mooney from Australia scored 61 runs from 41 balls against India in the Commonwealth Games. She also scored two 50s in the India series!

Sophie Devine from New Zealand added two 50s to her name against England and Australia in the Commonwealth Games. She also took 6 wickets in the same tournament.

Ash Gardner from Australia again made 216 runs becoming the third female after Alyssa Healy and Rachael Haynes to score more than 200 runs in a year. In the past year, she batted only seven times.

Australia’s Tahila McGrath took 13 wickets in 2022’s T20 matches. She also scored 435 runs and four 50s.

Pakistan’s Nida Dar picked 15 wickets and secured her seat in the T20 women’s team of the year! In the match against India, she scored 56 not out off 37 balls!

Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh, both from India, secured spots in this coveted list. While Deepti took 29 wickets, Richa made 259 runs with 13 sixes!

Sophie Ecclestone from England played 17 T20 matches and took 19 wickets. She also took home the Player Of The Year award twice.

Inoka Ranaweera from Sri Lanka fished 27 wickets in the 19 T20 matches she played.

Renuka Singh, again from India, was one of the tough contenders for the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. Of the seven T20 matches she played, she took eight wickets in total.

So proud of these women who have gone ahead to make their countries proud with their impressive performances in 2022!
