This was apparent when the Commissioner of Police of Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, went undercover at night to comprehend safety challenges for females. Woman police Officer Goes Undercover At Night In Hyderabad
The Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, Hyderabad, Sumathi, reportedly stood by herself on the streets in the middle of the night. She was dressed like an ordinary woman who was not surrounded by anyone, not even the police. She stood at a bus stop from 12:30 AM to 3:30 AM. During this time, she was approached by almost 40 men, who were young students or were employees. It is being said that some of them were drunk or had smoked marijuana.
This experiment was done to comprehend what happens on real grounds rather than just looking at the complaints filed by women. After this undercover mission ended, the people involved were identified. But the authorities decided to go different routes by calling them for counselling sessions and issuing strict warnings about their behaviour towards women instead of filing cases against them.
