Himanshu Jangra, aka the person who told his date story on Pranit More’s stand-up show, once again started going viral. The story revolved around how he paid Rs 370 for a biryani during his date and seemingly thought that he deserved a “return” for the same, which meant physical intimacy. After his clip went viral, people bashed him on social media. It seems that this controversy has also affected his professional life as the founder of his company, Starvik Design, revealed that they have terminated Himanshu.

Himanshu Jangra Fired From His Job Amid Rs 370 Biryani Controversy

The founder of Starvik Design, Vivek Vishwakarma, took to his Instagram and revealed that they have terminated Himashu Jangra. He stated that for the last 24 hours he has received hundreds of messages, emails, and calls regarding one of their employees, Himanshu Jangra. The founder said that like many people, he too watched the clips that have been circulating online. He opined that the statements shown in those clips are offensive and that they are not something he agrees with or something his company stands for, adding that they certainly should not be influencing young minds. Vivek stated that they reviewed the matter internally and spoke to the team including female employees. They couldn’t find a single complaint against him from their team. He revealed that Himanshu has been described as professional, respectful, hardworking, and well-behaved at work. Further, the founder stated that what happened outside has now affected the workplace, adding that he has the responsibility towards the company, their team and their clients, and the environment he creates there, which is why they have decided to part ways with Himanshu.

The Founder Thinks Himashu Should Reflect

Further Vivek Vishwakarma stated that an individual can be wrong and can make terrible mistakes, for they should face consequences. He hoped that we would never become a society that believes people cannot learn, reflect, apologise, or change. Vivek stated that social media trolling is not a joke, and that too for a 22-year-old mind. He added that Himanhu Jangra’s future from here will already carry the consequences of this moment for a very long time. Further, the founder made sure to say again that that does not make the statements right. He hoped that Himanshu would reflect on this chapter of his life and that he would learn from it. Vivek stated that while we hold people accountable, he asked people to also leave room for reflection, for growth, and positive transformation and that is the kind of society he hoped to build here.

Here, we think that holding people accountable for their problematic statements is one thing, but society should work on addressing the broader issue. What Himanshu Jangra stated just reflects how men expect s*x in return for their so-called “investments” and how often such situations are discussed in public under the pretext of a joke.
