Mumbai Indians’ player Hardik Pandya has found himself in yet another controversy after being fined 10 per cent of his match fee. He was also given one Demerit Point for “breaching” IPL’s Code of Conduct during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). It happened during the 10th over when the cricketer knocked down the bails of the wicket with force while coming back to his run-up. He was then issued a penalty for breaching Article 2.2, which says that abuse of cricket equipment, fixtures, or ground equipment during a match.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) during the recent IPL 2026 match. The cricketer admitted that his team fell short of 20 runs and felt that early wickets in the powerplay affected them. He stated that if he and Tilak Varma managed to stay for some more partnerships, the side could have posted a more competitive result. Pandya also talked about the pitch and said that he enjoyed playing on a bowler-friendly pitch surface, adding that the IPL has become heavily in favour of the batters in recent times.

Hardik Pandya said that he was disappointed with his team’s fielding efforts and also admitted to having dropped many catches. He stated that MI must not miss even half-chances if they wanted to win any matches, as dropped opportunities can leave sides chasing the game. But looking ahead, he said that he wanted to end the 2026 season on a positive note since the RSA match will be attended by around 25,000 children. He concluded by stating that the players hope to entertain and create memories for the young fans.
