Delhi Acid Attack: Flipkart Says Agra-Based Firm Sold Acid On Its Site

The Delhi acid attack on a 17-year-old girl who was on her way to school has sent chills down the spines of every Indian. It raised concerns over the sale of acid, which is illegal in our country. In this particular case, it was reported that the accused had bought acid from the e-commerce site Flipkart. In the recent update, the company has given a response to the police in this regard and has said that an Agra-based company sold acid on its site.

During the investigation of the accused in the Delhi acid attack case, the police found out that the acid used for the crime was bought from Flipkart, which is a popular e-commerce site. The Delhi police issued a notice to the site and around last week, they received a response from their end. On Monday, the police disclosed to the media that Flipkart in its response said that the acid was sold by an Agra-based firm. And it further informed that the acid was sold for ₹600. A team of Delhi police will be sent to Uttar Pradesh to further investigate the Agra-based company, as per news.

In connection with the Delhi acid attack, the police took three accused in custody. The prime accused is said to have been a friend of the victim. The crime was committed with the motive to take revenge on the girl after she broke up with him, reportedly in September this year. One of the accused was a friend and neighbour of the 17 YO girl. As per the last update on the girl’s health, the doctors treating her at the Safdarjung hospital said that she has 8 percent burns but her condition is stable.
