A Dehradun woman was allegedly physically assaulted and locked in a room and toilet for 10 months.
In a shocking and sad news piece today, a new case in Dehradun has emerged where a woman was allegedly locked in a room and a toilet by in-laws for 10 months and reportedly assaulted during this time frame. Claims were also made by the woman’s father that she was fed raw rice, chillies, and more during this time. This shocking case has turned heads. Read on to know all about it below!
Woman Allegedly Locked In Toilet For Months!
According to NDTV, a case was filed at the Selakui Police station where the woman’s husband, Rahul Khanduri, and his parents were accused of allegedly torturing the woman. The woman had tied the knot a couple of years ago and had given birth to twins back in 2025. It was reported that she lived with her in-laws while her husband was employed in Delhi. As per the reported complaint, the woman’s father claimed that since last July, she had been locked in a single room and toilet and she was allegedly physically abused by the in-laws. Further, the complainant alleged that the husband physically assaulted her and neglected her well-being when he returned home. Further, the shocking claims also mentioned that she was given raw rice, chillies, and onions to eat, adding that the repeated abuse affected her mental health.
Additionally, it was also claimed that the husband and his parents allegedly thrashed the woman. The complaint reportedly mentioned that she was allegedly beaten with drainpipes, rods, chairs, and floor wipes, adding that injuries were inflicted on her private parts using bottles and sticks. The complainant also made another shocking claim that the accused also violently pulled out her hair and that they allegedly abused her verbally and threatened to kill her.

As per NDTV, the complainant claimed that his daughter was not allowed to visit or speak to her family over these 10 months. Further, it was alleged that her in-laws didn’t allow them to meet with their grandkids. The father reportedly mentioned that when they contacted her, the in-laws gave reasons like she was sleeping or taking a bath. As per the report, the complainant stated, “In reality, our daughter was kept locked inside a room or a restroom from nine or ten o’clock in the morning.” They added that the woman was allegedly physically assaulted over this period. The complainant also reportedly said that they were not allowed to enter the accused’s house; the in-laws allegedly asked them to wait for another 15 days before visiting and also accused them of ruining their daughter’s home.
