Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation as the Union Education Minister on Saturday!
The protest, backed by the Cockroach Janata Party, sought Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation amid the NEET examination controversy. After he announced his resignation from the Union Education Minister’s post, the protests finally came to an end. The announcement regarding this was shared by the CJP’s spokespersons, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, during a joint CJP-Government press conference which was also reportedly attended by Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh.
CJP Protest Ends After Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation
As per NDTV, Cockroach Janata Party’s spokespersons Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, flanked by Union ministers J.P. Nadda and Jitendra Singh, told the press that the protest had concluded in “good faith” and that the government would keep its word on the demands. Saurav and Ashutosh urged protestors to go home as the government had accepted their demands. Sourav Das stated that they had demanded Rs 1 crore in compensation for the families of NEET victims and that the government had agreed to this. Additionally, he revealed that they also placed a five-point demand charter before the government, which discussed broader educational and exam reforms. He added that they will meet the government again in about four weeks regarding that demand charter.

Saurav Das further stated that their second demand was that all the First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against the protesters across India should be withdrawn. He revealed that it was accepted by the government as well. He shared that the withdrawal will be done shortly. Saurav stated that they have been assured that they will be provided with the copies of all the FIRs filed, adding that as per their last information, 15 to 20 FIRs were filed in Delhi and that they will receive those copies within three to four days in any case. Additionally, the CJP spokesperson shared that the government has also assured that the withdrawal will be done shortly. As per the reports, Saurav stated that the CJP has submitted a written guarantee in draft form to the government. He mentioned that the government assured them it will share this by Tuesday, adding, “We hope that by Tuesday we will receive the government’s guarantees regarding these FIRs and any future action.”
It’s worth noting that the video of CJP president Abhijeet Dipke and the youth reacting to the news of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation has been going viral, in which we can see them celebrating as their demand was met after almost a month-long protest.
