Non-Bailable Warrant Issued Against Ex-BJP MP Jaya Prada, Court Declares Her “Absconding” In Two Cases

Things look bad for actress and former BJP MLA Jaya Prada. An arrest warrant has been issued against her in two cases by a Magistrate judge in Rampur. The news made headlines on February 28 Wednesday, after the actress failed to present her before the court for a hearing on Tuesday. The court has issued Non-Bailable warrants (NBW) to the actress. As of yet, no official statements have come from Jaya Prada.

Arrest Warrant Issued Against Jaya Prada
BJP’s former MLA Jaya Prada seems to be in a difficult situation right now. The actress’s failure to present herself before the Rampur court has resulted in the judge issuing a Non-Bailable Warrant for the actress. The warrant has been issued in two cases, and the court has declared her ‘absconding’, as per the reports. The two cases under which she has been booked related to violation of the code of conduct. Reportedly, when the police tried to reach out to Jaya Prada, her phone was switched off. As per the police reports, the alleged accused is protecting herself. The next hearing has been kept for March 6, and the judge has ordered the superintendent to make a special investigating team to make sure that Jaya Prada is present before the court.

What Are The Cases?
In 2019, an election code of conduct charge against Jaya was filed in the Special MP/MLA Court, Rampur, at the Kemri and Swar police stations. In the same year, the actor joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) as the MLA. As an actress, she has been a part of popular films like Jaadugar, Sautan Ki Beti, and Lav Kaush among others.
