In recent events, a Nashik-based self-proclaimed Ashok Kharat is going viral after a viral video caused a big controversy around him. The viral video reportedly showed him performing what he called ‘Aghori therapy’ on a young child, which raised concerns and outrage on social media. He was seen asking the little girl to lift her t-shirt and then used tools such as a cable tester and an internet cable on her stomach, claiming to be some form of treatment.

This incident reportedly happened in front of the little girl’s mother, who was also in the room. This shocked many online users, with many lashing out in anger over such practices being carried out in the name of treatment and belief. But this is not the first time that Ashok Kharat has found himself in trouble. For the unversed, he was facing serious charges like r*pe, s*xual harassment, and even illegal possession of weapons.
And after this, reports suggested that another complaint was filed against him under the Maharashtra Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, to prevent superstition and harmful practices. The crime is being probed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Tejashwi Satpute. Authorities are actively reviewing CCTV footage from Kharat’s office, and there are concerns that more distressing instances will emerge as the inquiry proceeds.

Amid this, many officials have also stated that the police have seized such content during their investigation. And any websites that promise direct access to the same will be checked and may be fake. As per cybersecurity experts, even clicking on these links might end up in phishing and the infiltration of adware that can easily steal personal information and even bank details.
