Ashok Kharat Case: ED Uncovers 130 Bank Accounts In Money Laundering Probe. All We Know

The ongoing Ashok Kharat case has revealed shocking revelations about the self-styled godman and his horrible deeds. He is currently in police custody and has been accused in r*pe case. The Enforcement Directorate recently conducted raids in several cities in connection with this case, and some updates have surfaced. Read on to know more about it.
As per the initial reports, the Enforcement Directorate raid was conducted in three cities: Nashik, Pune, and Shirdi. The searches were carried out in connection with the money laundering allegations. Now, some of the latest updates on the same are making headlines. As per the reports, the raids were conducted in a total of 11 cities. These searches were made in the residential and commercial properties owned by Ashok Kharat, his family members and his Chartered Accountant.
As reported by Outlook India, the ED has uncovered around 130 bank accounts in their names, and transactions going up to Rs 60 crores. During the investigation, 30 more accounts related to Jagdamba Cooperative Credit Society in Sinnar were also found. And transactions of Rs 2.7 crores were made with these accounts. It should be known that till 2024, Ashok Kharat was the chairman of the Jagdamba Cooperative Credit Society

Going by a Mumbai Mirror report, around 87 dummy accounts were also discovered, and a lot of transactions were made using these accounts. The numbers linked to these accounts reportedly belong to Ashok Kharat and his wife. The ED investigation has also raised suspicions over some shady land purchases under Kharat’s name.

For the unversed, Ashok Kharat was arrested in Nashik for allegedly r*ping a woman for months. His judicial custody was recently extended in a third r*pe case.
