The incidents involving aeroplane tragedies have become quite common. The very recent one was the Air India Phuket-Delhi plane incident, where some passengers were hurt after a sudden change in altitude. One of the pilots was found positive after the substance abuse test, and now Air India has made it mandatory for pilots to take the tests, and it will begin from August 13. Read here for more.

Air India Mandates Screening For Marijuana

According to the latest updates, Air India has taken additional steps to ensure the safety and security of its passengers. In an attempt to strengthen its current regulations, Air India has ordered mandatory screenings of its pilots for medications and substances. According to the new orders, the screenings will be taking place alongside training sessions at the Gurugram Academy, after flights at its Flight Briefing Centres, Air India offices, and also at the respective pilot bases. With this new rule, the airline aims to give further assurance to its passengers, stakeholders and any other parties involved.

This rule has come right after the Phuket-Delhi plane incident. According to an NDTV reports, the Air India commander in charge of the plane was found positive for a mandatory drug screening. The incident took place on August 4.
