80-Year-Old Woman Runs Marathon In A Saree And We Can’t Even Wake Up Early!

Fitness is a passion of many and with the onset of the new year, I am sure a lot of people have made resolutions to become fitter by joining the gym, signing up for marathons, yoga and whatnot! But I honestly have no hope from young people who are dedicated towards fitness because unka resolution aaj bante hi all toot jaata hai! But if at all there is someone who has inspired me to get healthy is this 80-year-old woman who participated in the recently held TATA Mumbai Marathon! And what is all the more interesting thing is that she ran the marathon wearing a saree and sports shoes!

The details of her feat were shared by Dimple Mehta Fernandes, the granddaughter of this woman, who shared a video on Instagram. Wearing a brown saree and a pair of sports shows, Dimple’s 80-year-old nani was enthusiastically running the 4-kilometre marathon holding India’s flag. She also managed to finish the marathon in less than an hour! In the caption of the video, Dimple wrote that she is inspired by the grit and will of her nani.

Internet users showered appreciation on Dimple’s nani who set true fitness goals with her run! Many have said that she is really inspiring while others commented that this proves age is just a number. See their reactions below.

Towards the end of the video, her nani also gives an interview to a news portal and says that she keeps participating in such marathons and this is her fifth time doing so! She also said that she has been prepping for the marathon as well. She was also seen posing with the mascot of the event and showing off her certificate!
