The world has changed a lot, it has come a long way and become a little more accepting of diversity and various lifestyles. LGBTQIA+ are becoming an accepted part of our society, they are being given the freedom to live the way they want. While coming out to the world remains a difficult task but that’s not the case when it comes to your closest friends. Coming out to your friends can be the first step towards letting the world know your identity. This can also feel very empowering because it can free one of the fear of being “found out” and even helps avoid living a double life. 

This feeling of being free and declaring your identity to the world was portrayed well in the movie Badhaai Do. At the end of the movie, there is a pride parade, and we actually experience the hesitation of a policeman who wants to join in but initially tries to resist.
