Redditors Unanimously Agree That Attraction Is More Important Than Compatibility In Dating. Harsh Truths!

The preferences for a partner when it comes to dating are subjective criteria, and one should feel shameful for having a preference either. Some people might like tall partners or some might like older partners and some might only have a thing for people with piercings. All these criteria are absolutely acceptable and one does not have to feel guilty about them either. But that one category of people everyone must steer clear of are red flags, hehehe! But I came across a Reddit thread that asked people if it is shallow to not date someone who they feel is unattractive even if they are compatible with them. The responses on this thread were quite interesting, too!

Is it shallow to not date someone who you’re very compatible with, because you find them unattractive?

One of the Redditors responded to this and said that dating is always optional, and one can choose to not date anyone that does not fit their preference.

One of them wrote that they kept dating people who they were not attracted to because they felt the need to give them chances but now they have taken a u-turn from this ideology.

While some people came forward to collectively say that even though it is a shallow thing but it is nothing to feel guilty about. Many people chimed in saying that attraction is the key to a happy relationship.

But then there were some people who responded by writing that attraction builds over time and it is not necessary to feel attracted to a person at first sight.

Of course, attraction is important to a partner to be in a relationship with them. If there is no attraction that cannot be classified as a romantic relationship, can it? Then, it is just two people platonically hanging out. But that adrenaline rush, that attraction, those butterflies need to be felt in order to want to be in a relationship with someone. And if one does not give you those butterflies, then you do not need to date them. This is not some charity show, alright? There are people out there who are attractive and also might be compatible with you.
