Kalki Koechlin did not shy away from documenting her pregnancy journey on social media. From all the unfiltered pictures of her baby bump to getting real about parenting on social media, Kalki Koechlin shared it all on the Gram. On the recent episode of The Male Feminist, where she had a conversation with Siddhaarth Aalambayan, she spoke about those aspects of post-pregnancy which not a lot of women open up about. One of the things she spoke about was how difficult it was for her to resume her sex life after giving birth.

“It’s a lot,” says Kalki Koechlin about the pressure of getting back into a relationship after giving birth. She said that if a woman has had a vaginal delivery, then it is a battle fight for her, and also how a woman must take some time off post-delivery. Kalki also highlighted how resuming sex life after giving birth is not easy.

Shedding light on her experience, Kalki said, “We kept trying (she and her partner). There is also that thing where you do not have time, you don’t have the space, and you’re also not sleeping well. After like six months your period comes back because you know when you’re breastfeeding you don’t have your period.”

The Made In Heaven star also said that the first time she had sex with her partner after giving birth, it was a painful experience for her. She added that it takes a lot of time to get back into having an intimate relationship with one’s partner, and also that it took her a year before enjoying sex. Kalki Koechlin went on to say that one has got to allow their body to heal from the trauma it has been through.
