Exclusive: “Treat Intimate Scenes Like Action Scenes,” Says Made In Heaven Actor Kalki Koechlin

With time, actresses are now opening up about the various struggles and uncomfortable situations they have to go through on a film set. Well, we can only imagine! Many have talked about the male and female ratio on the crew of a film’s set and that’s a genuine problem that has been overlooked for many years. On the new episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Kalki Koechlin openly talked about the various problems actresses have to go through when thousands of men stare at them during their shots. The actress also highlighted the need to treat the shoots for intimate scenes just like action scenes and put forth her opinions on the change that she has seen over the years.

On the new episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, Kalki Koechlin had a progressive and unfiltered conversation with the host Siddhaarth Aalambayan. From opening up about abuse to keeping her opinions on female pleasure, the actress put out some really progressive ideologies during this fun conversation on The Male Feminist, Among this, Kalki Koechlin also shed light on the problems that actresses face on a shooting location with thousands of men around.

Elaborating on the same, Kalki Koechlin said that it becomes very uneasy for an actress on days when she is shooting in a tight dress, and there are thousands of men around staring at her with mobile phones in their hands. “They can click pictures for any angle but actresses have no choice apart from giving their best shot,” Kalki added.

However, the actress feels that things are evolving with time. Kalki said that there is an evident shift happening in the way intimate scenes are shot. “Actresses are prepped for the beforehand. The scene is shot in a closed room with  the presence of just the director and some ADs.” Kalki Koechlin added that firmly believes that intimate scenes should be treated as action scenes, and the actress should be well aware of the shot in advance.
