Ukraine Official Shares Pictures Of 108 All Female-Prisoner Exchange With Russia. And It Is A Heartbreaking View.

Going through the history books, it all seemed so fascinating to me during those school days. Little did I know that I will witness history repeating itself in 2022 as well. All those bone-chilling images from world wars, the pictures of those prisoners held captive, and the horrors that women and children faced during that time seem to have become a reality today again. The world witnessed the war that happened between Ukraine and Russia, and humanity failed again! Now there are some pictures that both countries have released from this exchange. And a Ukraine official said that it was the first all-female prisoner swap with Russia.
Черговий масштабний обмін полоненими вдалося провести сьогодні. Емоційний та справді особливий – ми звільнили з полону 108 жінок.
У полоні перебували мами та доньки, яких дуже чекали рідні.

The news and pictures of this exchange were shared by Ukraine’s presidency’s Chief of staff, Andriy Yermak on his social media handle. In his post, he mentioned that another large-scale prisoner exchange was carried out by both countries and specifically mentioned that it was the first all-female prisoners exchange. As per Andriy’s post, around 108 women prisoners were released from Russia. In the video shared by him, you can see many women, who all look very happy and excited to soon reunite with their loved ones. In fact, the war prisoners also had many mother-daughter duos among them.
Now all the ladies will undergo a medical examination and rehabilitation. They will hug their relatives, their children. They will recover. Thanks to the Coordinating Staff on the Treatment of Prisoners of War and everyone involved for the brilliant job. pic.twitter.com/tdNmInegh2

It is nothing new that the most affected gender in war has always been women. The picture stands as proof of one of the saddest realities. I never imagined that we will be live witnesses to this history as well. It is beyond our imagination to even feel the horrors these women prisoners would have been subjected to. It will certainly take a lot of time for them to get back into a normal state of mind. It is heartbreaking to see innocent victims suffering the pain of war.
