Female Travellers To Get Women Friendly Tourism In Kerala. We’re Already Planning An All Girls Trip!
Well, I can say that I have always gone on vacations with my family as I don’t know how to travel alone and safety is my first priority. So, the thought of solo travelling never came to my mind until I heard about Kerala’s recent tourism initiative. For the unversed, the Tourism Department of Kerala has initiated the ‘Women Friendly Tourism’ project. It will focus on making travel hygienic and safe for all women tourists. That’s good news for all the female travel junkies!

As solo, as well as group travel by women, is on the rise, the tourism department of Kerala has initiated the ‘Women Friendly Tourism’ project under their RT mission aka Responsible Tourism Mission. The focus of the project will be on making travel safe and hygienic for women tourists. The state’s Responsible Tourism Mission will train women to handle and provide accommodation, food, transport, transport, community guides, and other things for women which will come under an all-women tour package.

According to the reports, UN Women India Deputy Representative recently emphasised the need for reliable, safe, and hygienic infrastructure for women while addressing the participants of the one-day workshop which was organised under this project.

The reports also suggest that a memorandum of understanding will be signed between UN Women and the RT Mission for gender-inclusive tourism. As part of the tourism initiative, the Responsible Tourism Mission will provide training to women to work as storytellers, community tour leaders homestay operators, taxi operators, etc.
