Woman Was Just Going About Shooting Her Workout. What She Captured Was A Whole Political Movement
They say you should ‘dance like no one is watching’ and some times, no one is. But when you’re recording it, chance are, you’re going to put it up on the internet for public consumption and at some point, you want the views. But what if you end up capturing a political movement? Yup, it’s rare but it happened. A woman’s video of doing aerobics without realising a military convoy was passing her by as a coup was taking place in Myanmar went viral, the internet is intrigued with how nonchalant she is to what is happening around her.
Being compared to yet another legendary video and meme where a child could be seen swinging in a park while the building in his background burnt, this video of a woman working out in the national capital of Nay Pyi Daw is now going viral on the internet for just how paradoxical the moment was.
In the one minute fifty second video, the woman is seen in the open, doing her aerobics moves and focused on getting her workout in, not realising even for a brief second that there are several SUVs, rather a whole convoy was passing to reach the Assembly of the Union complex behind her.

From beginning till the end, the woman doesn’t falter, stop or even take notice for a brief moment that the cars behind her stopped, the barricades opened and the cars have passed. This is followed by men on bikes but she didn’t let anything break her focus or her rhythm.

Calling the scene captured on camera as a parody or a dystopian comedy, the netizens have been sharing the video with all sorts of views to share. On Monday, military personnel staged a coup in Myanmar, declaring a year long state of emergency.
The woman who has been identified as one Khing Hnin Wai told the reporters that she had been filming at the location for several months and had come around that day for the same purpose. Except she had no idea how this would be the day Myanmar would have a coup taking place and she would become famous.
