Last year during lockdown, as the time to celebrate my birthday came closer, we were so knee deep into the coronavirus lockdown that the way I ended up bringing in my 24th birthday was through conference video calls at 12 am, with a network as weak as my will to party. I was so bummed out by the fact that we were confined to our homes for a period that was indefinite at the point, that even dressing up for myself in something other than my PJs was a task. However, one person who took even this lockdown in her stride and ended up hosting a party was this woman we found on Reddit, who invited different versions of herself!
Giving creative thinking a new high, was a woman on Reddit who had the most innovative idea of throwing a party for herself on her birthday, but with a twist. Posting her picture saying how she partied with a group, and before anyone could point a finger at her for breaking the social distancing rules, she wrote, “Couldn’t go out to celebrate my birthday during lockdown, so I threw a party for myself.” And damn, that’s so smart.
The woman who goes by the username “u/MissJinxed”, garnered a lot of praise and attention for the stunt she pulled, with 9 versions of herself and a man, who was surrounded by the girls in the picture. With over 1,30,000 upvotes, the picture posted on March 9 is already going viral. One user even wrote, “This is so well done!! I’m impressed,” and we can’t help but feel the same.
