Among a couple of names that have come forward to fill the post, one name is of Indian origin and she is Suella Braverman. Who is Suella Braverman?

Suella Braverman is the attorney general of England and she was given this post in 2020. She is a lawyer and also one of the lawmakers who had first made a public announcement that she would head Britain’s Conservatives. Suella Braverman is 42 years old and had told a television reporter that she wanted to run in the prime ministerial race as she and her parents are immigrants and that they ‘owe a debt of gratitude to the country’. Her parents migrated from Kenya and Mauritius to Britain in the 1960s.

She was elected to the House Of Commons in 2015 and education, home affairs and justice are her areas of interest. Speaking of her views on Brexit, she was totally in support of the UK leaving the European Union. Suella Braverman married Rael Braverman in 2018 and the couple welcomed their first child in 2019. She went on maternity leave in March 2021 and resumed office in September 2021.
