The auspicious day of Karwa Chauth is here, and women all over the country who celebrate this festival are quite excited to get into the festive spirit! Right from shopping to getting ingredients to make the delicious foods on this day, the planning of it all must have been going on for days in advance! Applying mehendi on the hands and legs holds great significance on this day. Because henna is considered auspicious for married women, and Karwa Chauth is observed by married for their husband’s long life, henna plays a very important role in the attire that women don for the occasion! But in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, the saffron outfits have warned Muslims against applying mehendi on the hands of Hindu women celebrating Karwa Chauth.

As per a report, the saffron outfits have accused the Muslims of love jihad and have issued strict warnings to them against applying mehendi to the Hindu girls and women who are observing Karwa Chauth’s fast. To ensure that only Hindu girls apply henna on the hands of those celebrating this festival, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced that they have opened special ‘henna centres’ in the Muzaffarnagar district.

One of the senior officials of the VHP said that they have opened 13 centres across the district that only hires Hindu girls as henna artists as opposed to Muslim men. The senior leader also went on to say that as their observation, Muslim men ‘lure’ Hindu girls under the pretext of applying henna on their hands and thus try to convert their religion.
