Chaat is one of the most delicious Indian street food and a true foodie can never say no to a well-made dish of bhel! Even though the ingredients that go into the making of bhel are very basic like murmure, raw onions, tomatoes, kacchi kairi and chutneys, when they are all added in the right proportion, the flavours that erupt with the first bite are truly inexplicable! Well, it seems that bhel is no longer just an Indian favourite but the dish has impressed the judges of MasterChef Australia as well. Yes, you read that right. Sarah Todd, an Australian celebrity chef, put together a dish of bhel for the 10-minute pressure challenge which has left the judges floored!
Bhel Impresses MasterChef Australia Judges
Sarah Todd took to her Instagram to share that she made a dish of bhel for the 10-minute challenge. She also shared pictures of herself in action and also shared pictures of her getting hugged by the judges for making the dish. In the caption, she wrote, “What is the tastiest dish you can make in 10 minutes? First thing that came to mind was Bhel Puri. It is said that a true blue Bhel Puri must be created just before consumption to prevent the puffed rice from getting soggy. And all we have to do is let the taste takes its course. Perfect for the MasterChef 10 minute challenge, right? Zingy, tangy and slightly spicy!”
Twitter is left in splits over the judges’ comments when they tasted Sarah’s bhel. One of them wrote, “Someone made Bhel Puri in Masterchef Australia and the judges were like— ‘You packed such complex flavours into this and the raw onions were amazing and how did you manage to do this in 10 minutes!!!'”

Honestly, we love how an Indian dosh saved the day for Sarah and at the same time, the judges got to taste India’s favourite evening snack!
