Tridha Choudhury Says Intimate Content Created For A Show Should Not Be Available On Porn Sites

Being an actress isn’t easy. It’s not just about the hits and flops that an actress gives, but how proactively she tries out new things.  When you see an actress doing a particular type of role, more often than not, we make the mistake of assuming that they are the same person even in real life. Especially when an actress is sexualized in her role. A lot of actors who are young and have recently entered the film industry have spoken about how they have been sexualized by society because of the roles they portray on the big screen – one of them being the famous actress Tridha Choudhury.

Recently, Tridha Choudhury came out and spoke about how actors – especially actresses – are constantly being sexualized because of their roles. She talks about how often the intimate scenes between two actors get circulated on pornographic sites. Tridha Choudhury believes that the people making films should take the necessary actions to curb these incidents.

Actress Tridha Choudhury, who is currently been tagged as the next millennial sex symbol, in her interview said, “Actors, especially women, are frequently sexualized after being cast in a particular role. As an actor, I know the limit of intimacy that I have agreed to for a role in particular. In Aashram, I know my character is that of a sex worker, so there will be intimacy on screen. But when I shoot for that I am placing my trust in the entire unit of the film. People need to understand that when an actor has agreed to an intimate scene, there is a lot of effort that has gone into it. It is not as if I am enjoying the experience of shooting that sequence. I feel the edit team of Aashram could have done a better job and portrayed me in a more aesthetic manner.”

Tridha Choudhury also added that “Also, the production team should have taken care of instances when these intimate scenes were being circulated on pornographic sites.” She said that it’s important that the makers take cognisance of the digital footprints of their show and are quick to block or deny access to those using these clips illegally and for explicit content.

In fact, she came out and spoke about how people for no reason even sexualize her social media posts. Tridha Choudhury talks about how social media platforms are a place to voice out opinions and their stands, but instead, an actress/actor’s social media posts are used to create gossip around them.

When we see an actor on a screen, we forget that they are doing their job and that person on screen is not their true selves. More often than not, we forget that they are playing someone else on the screen. And that’s what Tridha Choudhury points out in her interview. And this is especially true when it comes to an actress. We make sex symbols of our actresses when we see them doing intimate scenes/particular characters in more than one film. We need to realize that what they’re doing is mechanical and stop sexualizing them.
