This Woman From Nagpur Murders Her Husband For Having Four More Wives

I’ve always hated those extra mirch masala-wale Bollywood movies. You know the ones where the entire plot revolves around a man who has more than one wife or lover. Throughout the duration of the movie, he tries his best to ensure all the women in his life don’t come face to face. It’s the most ridiculous plot but for some reason, we have numerous such movies that have done wonders at the box fffice. How do you think those plots would play out in real life though? I’ll tell you how. A woman in Nagpur murdered her husband after finding out he has four other wives. Divorce is a concept, right? I didn’t dream it? This is so unnecessarily extreme.

On Thursday, the Nagpur police arrested a 28-year-old woman, identified as Swati Laxman Malik, for allegedly murdering her husband who had four other wives. I have so many questions right now, but let’s not go down that road. The biggest irony though is that according to the police, the deceased, Laxmi Malik had disowned his younger son with Swati because he suspected her of infidelity. Whatever the matter though, nothing condones murder.

Earlier this week, Swati allegedly met Laxmi at his friend’s office. According to reports, he was staying there after leaving the house. Swati tied his hands to a chair, they got physically intimate and then she slit his throat with a knife. This is so brutal and gruesome. According to the police, Laxman, who was a retired sanitation worker, did not get along with any of his wives or children. He and Swati often had disputes about money. A police official, talking about how they nabbed Swati said, “After learning from a cab driver that he had dropped Swati outside Laxman’s place on Monday, police grilled her and she confessed to the crime.”

This case is just so bizarre and tragic. I understand that cheating on someone is probably one of the worst things you can do but murdering someone for it is just unacceptable. Hopefully, this woman gets severely punished for her crime.
