This Lady Boss Got Stuck With A Potato Filter Through An Important Work Video Conference Meeting And Gave Us The Much Needed Comic Relief

These days most of my articles and conversations with friends begin with me discussing how anxious everyone is right now. But here’s the thing, coronavirus is playing at the back of our minds like all the time. So whether we are consciously thinking of it or not, it has been stressful. It’s not just the fear of contracting the virus but the sudden change in our life that’s making us grieve. Our response to transitions is similar to that of a tragedy. While at it, we go through the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. And it seems like a lot of us are vacillating in and out of the acceptance phase. What we must do to sail through these tough times is to pursue happiness and adapt to the new situation. We need to keep our spirits up and thankfully, there isn’t a dearth of funny incidents around the world to help us with that.

While we are working from home and missing the company of our colleagues, a Twitter user Rachele Clegg shared a photo of her video conference meeting taking a hilarious turn. So her boss turned on a filter that transformed her into a potato, accidentally. But things truly became funny when she couldn’t figure how to turn it off and continued the entire meeting as a potato. Rachele wrote: “My boss turned herself into a potato on our Microsoft teams meeting and can’t figure out how to turn the setting off, so she was just stuck like this the entire meeting.”

I really don’t know how they were able to pull that meeting off without convulsing into fits of laughter becuse that’s some serious dedication and self-control. I would have been laughing every minute! Lizet Ocampo, the Political Director at People For The American Way is the woman who went to a serious meeting as a spud. The best thing is that she took it sportingly well. I mean, you do need to have a sense of humour to sit through a meeting looking like you’re ready to become a bag of chips.

Lizet Ocampo even shared the post using #PotatoBoss as a funny dig at herself. “Now with the coronavirus pandemic, there is even more reason to try to connect and keep spirits high,” Lizet Ocampo said, as reported by the Mirror. She further added, “Everything about the potato story is hilarious: the fact that it happened, the look of the potato (my) face, and the expressions on the faces of my colleagues.”

This is truly hilarious and I can tell that my boss would totally pull it off in team Hauterfly meetings, except it would be totally voluntary. What should I say? We find our ways to be happy!
