Editor’s Pick: 7 Things To Do In Goa This Monsoon With Your Girl Gang!
Did your Goa trip with your girl gang finally come to fruition, but smack in the middle of monsoon? Now, I’m sure you’re thinking that it’s such bad timing, but that’s where you’re wrong. First of all, there’s never a bad time to hit up Goa. It may be pouring, and the sea might be rough, but Goa still has monsoon offerings that make it the ultimate destination for your girls’ trip. To begin with, this is when it’s less crowded, and off-season means the best hotels will be the most affordable during this season. Bike/car rentals are cheaper, and fewer crowds mean you can explore Goa and its culture at its best. What makes it extra special? Instead of the stereotypical party nights and beach time, you can explore inland locations like the backwaters and seasonal waterfalls, amongst other things. Ready to explore slow Goa this monsoon with your girl gang? Here are some things you must do.
1. Travel in Vande Bharat
If you’re travelling from Mumbai, skip that flight and opt for a trip to Goa in the Vande Bharat Express. Not only does it get you from Mumbai to Goa in 6.5 hours, but it does that in style. Vande Bharat is a luxurious but affordable high-speed train with comfortable seats, clean bathrooms (you’ll be pleasantly surprised, I promise), and kickass food among other things. What makes this journey extra special is the view. Your route from Mumbai to Goa will be filled with beautiful greenery and stunning views of the Konkan region. It’s not an experience you want to miss.

2. Book a Well-Connected Hotel
Monsoon is the season when hotels are way more affordable, so you might want to pamper yourself and your girls with a nice luxury resort located in the hub of the city. My recommendation would be opting for Pride Sun Village Resort & Spa in North Goa. Surrounded by greenery, this resort is located in the middle of Anjuna Beach and Baga Beach, with Calangute Beach just a stone’s throw away. Inspired by the Sun God, this property of the Pride Group of Hotels is known for its warm hospitality. Additionally, the resort also has the largest swimming pool in the area and offers the best coastal dishes that celebrate the culinary heritage of Goa.

3. A Brunch With Nature
Head to Elephant & Co, near Anjuna, for brunch with your baby girlies. The restaurant offers an open-air dining experience overlooking a paddy field. Don’t be surprised if you spot peacocks lounging in the field while you sip on your delicious Urrak cocktails along with delicious cold plates and a fusion main course. Don’t miss out on their Raw mango salad, caramelised goat-milk cheese, jackfruit tacos, ECO prawn curry, Kundapur ghee roast, and Konkani chicken curry. Hard recommendations, girls. I also suggest you make a table reservation in advance for your brunch.

3. The Ultimate Mud Bath
If you’re looking for a post-brunch relaxation plan, I’ve got you covered. Book the Curly Tales-recommended mud bath at Divine Retreat in Arambol in North Goa. Apart from nourishing your skin, this mud bath is a holistic experience that combines naturopathy with mental relaxation, healing your mind, body and soul. Apart from being just a fun activity, this experience is also a reminder of the childhood we’ve all spent playing in mud and nature. And in case you’re worried about the quality of mud, rest assured, this place uses a mix of clay with rare salts, herbs, plant substances and organic medicines mixed with filtered water to make mud rich in minerals and vitamins for healthy skin.

4. A Good Night’s Sleep
After a day full of activities and fun with your girls, I’d recommend you take a day to rest and catch up on sleep. Nothing heals better than a good night’s sleep. We often tend to make our vacations about exploring and checking things off our list, and in between all of this, we forget to get some rest. It’s no surprise that we return from vacations feeling exhausted. So, cancel that plan and hit the bed with your girls.
5. Peak Goa Monsoon Activities
Goa offers experiences like waterfall hiking, cliff jumping and wild swimming that are best experienced during the monsoon season. The Local Beat and Beatroute Explorers will help you book a good waterfall hike to explore and discover hidden waterfalls with locals. You can also go cliff jumping and swim in the wild but safe swimming holes that most tourists tend to miss. The best part? These hidden gem hikes are followed up with traditional Goan or Konkani food along with local drinks like feni.

6. Ghost Tour Of Goa
If you’ve missed out on booking Sarbajeet and Pooja’s Ghost Encounters Tour, feel free to book different tours of haunted locations across Goa like the D’Mello House, Saligao Village, Jakni Bandh, Dona Paula Beach, Baytakhal and Three Kings Church among other locations. Having said that, don’t go out exploring it all alone and on your own at night. Make sure you explore the paranormal experience while keeping your safety in mind. In case you wanna experience it virtually, watch this episode of Behen, Bhoot, Aur Bakch**i:
7. A Night Of Partying
My recommendation: skip the Mambo’s and Tito’s and hit up Thalassa and Romeo Lane and grab some unique cocktails, a great crowd and an even better experience. And if you’re looking for an even more unique experience, hit up the silent nightclub in Palolem. This place will hand you headphones so there’s no noise pollution, but the party goes on.
